A MEDIA student at Stratford College has been awarded with a surprise grant of £1,500 in recognition of his exceptional results.

Ben Chapman, from Stratford, studied Creative Media Production at the College since 2014, and achieved top marks when he got distinctions

Ben is now preparing to start a BA(hons) in Media Production at Bournemouth University next month.

And throughout the first year of his studies, he will receive the university’s Academic Excellence grant, which it awards to students with exceptional grades.

Ben could not believe his eyes when he discovered he would be receiving the funding.

“I just received an email out of the blue from the university saying that I was going to receive a grant because of my grades. I didn’t really know what was going on at first – I was shocked. I had no idea I was going to get a grant like this!”

Ben was quick to thank his lecturers for their help and support during his two year course at Startford.
