NFU Mutual charity effort simply 'pawsome'

A HIKING, biking and kayaking challenge by staff from a Stratford insurer saw them raise money for the Guide Dogs.

More than 100 staff from Stratford-based NFU Mutual took part in the Coniston Adventure Challenge in the Lake District as part of the company’s ongoing fund-raising for the charity.

In teams of six, they took on a 10km hike to the summit of Old Man Coniston, a 12km mountain bike through the forests of Grizedale, and a one-mile kayak across Coniston Water.

The challengers also had the opportunity to meet guide dogs and their owners to hear about how their efforts would change lives.

Guide Dogs was voted by NFU Mutual staff to be their corporate charity for 2015 and 2016, and to date they have raised over £200,000. This will fund one guide dog throughout its life, and over 19 guide dogs puppies in their first year.
