Wickhamford stay top after high-scoring draw

FC WICKHAMFORD retained top spot in Stratford Alliance Division One after a 4-4 draw with title rivals Henley Forest of Arden.

The result at Sally Close, in the first home game of the season for Wickhamford, leaves Wickhamford one point clear of Alcester Town Reserves and Henley lie third, three points adrift of the leaders.

Sam Ford, Shane Turley and Ben Johns netted for Wickhamford and Henley’s goalscorers were Tom Byrom, Dan Hagyard, Henri Lewis and Thomas Wale.

Bretforton OB moved out of the bottom two after a 2-0 home victory against Feckenham Reserves.




Inkberrow Reserves rattled up the biggest win in the latest matches in the second round of RM Smith Cup, sweeping aside FISSC Reserves 8-0 at Sands Road. Substitute Kieron Sheen bagged two of the goals, with Jamie Firkin, Harry Grant, Greg Guy, Robert Guy, Steve McManus and Sam White also on target.

Dino De Angelis completed a hat-trick as Welford-on-Avon swept aside GSH United 4-2. Andy Dale bagged a late fourth.


South Redditch Athletic also progressed to the quarter-finals with a 6-2 success at home to Inkberrow A. Michael Ashford (2), Benjamin Higgins, Omar Pennicott, Callan Towler and Anthony Jones netted, whilst Brandon Dawson and Stuart Hall replied.
