Thunderbirds are back with a bang

Stratford Editorial 7th Nov, 2019   0

STRATFORD Thunderbirds under 12 A team made a triumphant return to the annual ‘Fighting Skin Cancer’ charity tournament in Worcester.

With long-established clubs from the region in their path, the team remained undefeated and their best result – a 12-0 win over Bromsgrove club Ryland – added to the satisfaction of conceding only nine goals all day.

The team are enjoying their second season together, led confidently by new captain Isabella Hill who collected both the winner’s trophy and accolade of Manager’s Player of the Tournament due to her mature leadership skills.

‘Bella’ is relishing the role and the team respond well to her gentle but firm character.

The under 12 girls are a credit to the expanding netball club and have much to be proud of in their short time together.

“Tournaments are a great way to really push the players as they can change positions and put their hard work from training into practice,” said proud team manager Alix Hay.

“We have much to build on for an eventful league season ahead.”
