TDMS Evesham spring a cup shock

DIVISION Two outfit TDMS Evesham knocked higher graded New Inn Pershore out of the PURR Home Services Knockout Cup with a superb 6-3 victory in which Tom Dixon bagged a hat-trick and Ben Solomon, Ben Cole and Owen Horne also found the net.

Callum Worrall, Jack Hughes and Kyle Ballard replied for New Inn.

Stratford HGC edged out Ashton 88 4-3.

In the Bluck Cup, Drakes Broughton Rangers produced an excellent performance to win 5-1 at Fortis through goals from Bill Hemming (3), Ryan Branfield and Charlie Barrett, whilst Bidford Juniors defeated Bengeworth on penalties after a 2-2 draw in which James Morris and Connor Griffiths scored for Bidford and Adam Beasley and Chris Malin struck for Bengeworth.




Stour Excelsior went through 6-3 at the expense of Broadway United as Sean Leahy (2), Jake Harris (2), Edward Walker and Robbie Shurmer scored for the Shipston side.

In the Evesham & District Sunday League, Inkberrow showed their Division One title credentials with a 4-1 victory at champions Bretforton Old Boys as Alex Griffiths (2), Alex Bullock and Jack Dicker scored for the visitors, with Thomas Leonard scoring for Old Boys.


Evesham WMC head the table following a convincing 9-0 win at Alderton as Elliott Grady (3), Sam Ford (2), James Schembri (2), Sean Cooke and Matthew Iorns all netted for the Workies.

In Division Two, goals from Kieran Ashmead (2), Nathan Lewis and an own goal earned Harvington Harriers an excellent 4-0 win over Bear, whilst Fladbury returned to winning ways with a 5-1 victory over Broadway Athletic in which Will Green (3), Max Ferriday and Cavan Jason-Ryan scored for the village side and Mark Jeffs registered for Athletic.

In Division Three, Asum Athletic let a two-goal lead slip against Tewkesbury Athletic in a 2-2 draw in which Rhys Giles scored twice for Asum before goals from Matthew Butler and Andrew Cooper levelled matters.

Max Lowe and Lewis Carter were on target for Ashton 88 Reserves in their 2-1 win at Bredon, for whom Daniel McGuigan scored.

Vale United eased to a 6-2 victory over Stour Excelsior Reseves with goals from Joshua Grice (3), Paul Law (2) and Craig Dashfield-Ormrod, whilst Dragons and Titans drew 3-3 with Brett Danby, Dion Mayhew and Adam Hinchcliffe on target for Dragons and James Elwell, George Mallory and Graeme Hay on the mark for visitors Titans.
