STRATFORD-upon-Avon Boat Club’s adaptive athletes won six out of seven rowing events which form part of the Marlow Town Regatta and Festival.

Stratford’s rowers lost just one race all day with the fastest sculler from each of the four largest competing clubs entered into the Charlton Cup.

And Stratford’s Curtis Dickens beat a tall Marlow sculler in his semi-final by two lengths before comfortably seeing off an experienced rower from Guildford in the final to win the event.

Rowing legend Sir Steve Redgrave CBE, Great Britain’s five-time Olympic gold medallist, presented the cup to Dickens.

Stratford’s Andy Morris won his singles event by several lengths and then joined forces with Dickens to triumph in the open doubles event.

And Gillian Middleton won the ladies doubles in convincing fashion before also triumphing in another event with a scratch crew.

The mother and son combination of Paola and Ian Ward finished the day with another fine Stratford win in the mixed doubles.

However, in the J14 singles, Isaac Clarkson made an error right at the start of his race which denied him any chance of victory as he fought back valiantly to lose by a couple of lengths against a young Marlow sculler in the final.
