A CELEBRITY speaker whose last speech on Brexit went viral will be delivering his next talk in Stratford.

Professor Michael Dougan amassed scores of YouTube followers when his Brexit speech went viral following the referendum results.

He is now set to present a free talk called ‘Leaving the EU – Reality Begins to Bite’ at Stratford High School on Wednesday (May 31) at 6.30pm.

The event is being hosted by Stratford4Europe – an organisation campaigning for a strong and united European Union. It will include a talk followed by a question and answer session and light refreshments.

Michael Dougan – who is Professor of European Law at the University of Liverpool – formerly advised the government on EU relations and has an extensive list of publications to his name.

Chair of Stratford4Europe, Jonathan Baker, says the talk by the professor is a ‘huge coup’ for the town.

He said: “Professor Dougan is in huge demand all over the country. Recently in Bath the organisers were forced to crowd-fund to book a venue large enough for a sell-out audience of 850.

“What has made him such a great speaker is his unique ability to present in plain terms just the facts backed by evidence. The key question he will be addressing in Stratford will be ‘what impact is Brexit going to have on Britain and its future’?

“Already we are anticipating a record audience with many people travelling considerable distances to hear Professor Dougan in person.”
