YOUNGSTERS are having fun staying fit in Wootton Wawen.
Fitness equipment has been installed in the playground at Wootton Wawen Primary School following a £10,000 donation as part of a housing development project between Bouygues UK, Warwickshire Rural Housing Association and Waterloo Housing Group.
Equipment including a cross-trainer and stepper, has been installed in the playground to encourage health and fitness in the village.
As the village does not have a park or play area, the school playground and playing fields are left open after hours for community use.
Headteacher Marion Jones said: “Encouraging pupils to stay fit and healthy is something close to my heart.
“It’s really nice to see that when parents come and meet and chat after school, they can now have a go on the fitness equipment, as well as their children.
“Pupils are really enjoying playing on the equipment at lunchtimes and the playground has been become a real focal point for the whole community after school and during weekends and school holidays.”
