Witness appeal following masked robbery in Stratford

MASKED robbers who wrenched a cashpoint from a wall in Stratford are being hunted by police.

Officers are appealing for witnesses following the robbery at around 12.30am on Monday (September 28) outside Waitrose at the Rosebird Centre.

Two men wearing balaclavas, threatened a staff member who approached them, before pulling it from the wall. The pair fled on foot with the ATM’s cashbox.

The first suspect is described as a white, large build, distinctively tall, wearing a balaclava and gloves, and carrying a dark coloured rucksack under his arm.




The second is described as a white male, tall, wearing a balaclava, gloves and black trainers with a white line around the base.

Investigations are ongoing and officers have increased patrols in the area to reassure the community.
