A REFERENDUM will give people in Welford a chance to have their say on future developments in the village.
The Welford Neighbourhood Plan referendum will take place on October 12 to decide whether residents want to see Stratford District Council use the plan to help decide planning applications in the area.
Neighbourhood plans are a key component of the Government’s Localism Act, which aims to devolve greater powers to councils and neighbourhoods. The plan will cover everything from green spaces and sustainable transport, to housing and leisure facilities.
A number of neighbourhood development plans are already being used across the district.
Farnborough Parish is the latest area to welcome the project, adopting the plan on July 31.
