WITH winter just around the corner along with the host of viruses which come with it, people are being reminded of the importance of hand washing.

Having a good hand washing technique has been shown to reduce illness inducing bugs such as MRSA, Cdiff and winter vomiting bug norovius.

NHS South Warwickshire Clinical Commissioning Group have been carrying out handwashing training to staff and the public to show how easy it is to keep hands clean.

Infection Prevention nurse Sharon Stuart said: “It is a really important time for people to be aware of the need to keep their hands clean.

“With winter approaching good hygiene is paramount in reducing infections. The public can do a lot to keep infections at bay by having their flu vaccination and taking steps to maintain good hygiene.”
