YOUNG carers across Warwickshire have received a gift from local care home residents.
Those living at Cubbington Mill made love heart sun catchers in dedication to young carers supporting their loved ones.
One resident said: “I hope my sun catcher is able to bring a smile and brighten up their room with wonderful colours as the sun shines in, they are doing such an amazing job supporting their family”.
Care home manager Dimpho Kavanagh said, “It’s a tough job for a young person to take care of a loved one full time; it can be quite isolating and demanding, and young people in those positions often have to grow up fast. Here at Cubbington Mill, we wanted to do something special for the young people in Warwickshire who dedicate their lives to their loved ones; they don’t always get recognition for their dedication, but they make a huge difference to the lives of the individuals they care for, and we wanted to make sure they felt appreciated.”
Warwickshire Young Carers offers free and confidential support to young carers from the age of six upwards. They aim to help make a difference to their lives by encouraging them to take time out to relax, take a break and to realise their own dreams.
