COLOURFUL volunteers are painting the town purple to raise money for The Shakespeare Hospice.
Staff and supporters hit the streets yesterday to ‘Shake it Purple’ and spread the word about the hospice’s work supporting those affected by a life-limiting illness.
The Shottery-based hospice, which opened 17 years ago, relies heavily on community fundraising with only seven per cent of the money it receives coming from government. The rest of the £2million it needs to keep running every year comes from donations.
