Visitor return to National Trust properties has been emotional say Warwickshire staff

THE RETURN of visitors has been ’emotional’, say National Trust staff in Warwickshire.

Teams across the county are preparing for the May bank holiday, with nature trails now in place following the latest restriction easing on April 12.

The trails are designed to encourage families to safely enjoy adventures in their local outdoor spaces, and to celebrate spring – with the added bonus of earning a chocolate prize.

Grace Monson from Charlecote Park said: “It’s been quite emotional watching families visiting lately. Many people haven’t seen their loved ones for months during lockdown. Now they are able to reunite and meet up outside as restrictions have eased.

“It’s so lovely to see our supporters relaxing safely together and making the most the outdoors. We want to give more families a chance to visit, enjoy the outdoors together and to safely celebrate the delights of spring.”

The nature trail that originally ran over the Easter holidays was so well received that several National Trust places in Warwickshire and neighboring counties will continue to run the trail until May 3.

At Charlecote Park visitors are encouraged to ‘wibble wobble like a lamb’ and spot the spotty Jacob sheep and their lambs bouncing around in the spring sunshine.

And at Baddesley Clinton, families can see ducklings learning to swim around the moat, while a haze of bluebells awaits guests at Packwood House in Lapworth.
