THE COMMUNITY in Norton Lindsey has finally come together under one roof.
A new village hall is up and running following a £500,000 development project.
The run down former hall closed in December 2017 after some 50 years.
And in January funding was provided by Warwick District Council (WDC) and other sponsors, along with donations from villagers, to create the new hall.
It will provide a home to the local Women’s Institute and Brownies, along with fund-raising group the Stilton Sniffers, with seating for up to 120 people, a stage and two meeting rooms.
Warwick and Leamington MP Matt Western, WDC leader Andrew Day, and other councillors joined villagers to celebrate its long-awaited opening.
Hall chairman Peter Woolford said: “Our very efficient new hall is great news for the environment and is going to make a real difference for our community. A local facility of this size which allows people to access community functions and classes, without having to get in their cars, is a super asset for our village.
“Thanks to our supporters – village residents, FCC Communities Foundation, WDC, and others for providing funding as we would not have been able to go ahead without their support.”
