Vet nurses take on endurance runs to raise money for assistance dogs

Stratford Editorial 11th Jun, 2018   0

VETERINARY nurses Amber Farley and Ashleigh Erasmus have been getting down and dirty to help raise funds for assistance dogs.

Amber Farley and Ashleigh Erasmus – who both work for Avonvale, which has six practices across Warwickshire – have been taking on endurance runs in support of their employer’s dedicated charity of the year Dogs for Good.

Avonvale is looking to raise enough to train a puppy, and other events in the pipeline include a sponsored walk around Abbey Fields in Kenilworth.

Dogs for Good relies on fund-raising and sponsorship to cover the costs of training, feeding and providing healthcare for a puppy, which costs more than £20,000 throughout one dog’s working life.

Tina Williams, regional fundraiser at Dogs for Good, said: “Avonvale has supported us for 14 years and is extremely passionate about the work we do. The money raised will go to help us continue our work making life-changing differences to people with disabilities.”
