TIME is running out for people to bag a place in this year’s Stratford Sport Relief Mile.

Organiser Stratford District Council is encouraging athletes and fun runners alike to sign up for the event on Sunday March 20.

It will start at the sports pavillion and see participants do a one, three or six mile route along the Recreation Ground and past the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

Races begin at 10.30am for the three- and six-mile runners and 11.15am for the one mile route.

Council active communities spokesman, Danny Tolhurst, said: “The Sport Relief Mile is here and it’s time to walk or run yourself proud.

“We are delighted so many people have already signed up, but we want even more people to take part and make it the best Sport Relief Mile yet.

“From little ones to runners against the clock, there’s something for everyone on this special day.”

Entry is £7 for adults, £3 for children and £17 for a family of four.

Sport Relief is an annual event designed to raise money for people living across the UK and in some of the world’s poorest communities.

It will run from Friday March 18 until Sunday March 20.
