SWFT staff among country's happiest

STAFF at South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT) are among the happiest in the country.

The trust is celebrating its best ever staff survey scores, receiving top marks for recommendations about working or receiving treatment there.

Areas where the trust also performed better than the national average include staff satisfaction, motivation, low levels of illness due to work related stress, and equal opportunity for progression.

The staff survey is commissioned by the Department of Health and invites staff to answer questions anonymously about the trust as an employer and healthcare provider.

Chief executive Glen Burley said: “Our organisation is our staff. An engaged, motivated workforce is key to providing first class care and that’s why we place a lot of emphasis on listening to all our staff and welcome feedback from the staff survey every year.

“I am delighted with these results and extremely proud of the talented, compassionate and committed teams we employ. Their dedication helps us to deliver fantastic care in our hospitals and within the community every day.”

And staff nurse Hannah Cooke backed up the impressive results.

She said: “This trust is a great place to work. Yes,we are all busy, but staff at all levels and across all disciplines have the same priority, patient care.

“It is lovely being part of an organisation where you feel you can make a difference with new ideas welcomed and encouraged. As the survey results show, I wouldn’t hesitate recommending the trust as a place to work or receive treatment.”
