Stratford's Guild Chapel to host heavenly event

Ian Hughes 17th Apr, 2017

YOUNG artists are being called to Stratford’s Guild Chapel for ‘heavenly’ event over the Shakespeare Birthday weekend.

They are invited to drop in on Saturday April 22 to help decorate a huge cut-out of an angel – based on Archangel Michael, as depicted in one of the chapel’s best-preserved medieval wall paintings.

Plenty of crafts and collage material will be available, with volunteers on hand to help youngsters get creative and let their imaginations go wild.

The event – which is free and runs from 10.30am to 2.30pm – will also launch the Guild Chapel’s first ever Art Competition.

Open to schools and individuals, primary aged children are being challenged to create their own Guardian Angel, again taking inspiration from the chapel’s angels and Archangel Michael.
