Stratford Time Bank offering neighbourly help

Stratford Editorial 13th May, 2020   0

NEIGHBOURLY help is still being offered by Stratford Time Bank.

Prior to the pandemic, the group’s 250 members would arrange to help each other with gardening, music lessons, dog walking and for companionship.

Lockdown has meant a change to its way of working and now help can only be organised providing social distancing rules are observed.

But founder Sarah Coxhall says it became clear isolated members were missing meeting others and she has set up online activities including quizzes, mindfulness and laughter yoga.

Sarah told the Observer: “Feedback has been very positive. One comment I cherish is ‘connecting like this is the only time I am able to see anyone and it’s what’s keeping me sane’.”

“I’m looking forward to meeting these new members face-to-face for a cup of tea when lockdown is over.”
