Stratford singer features on festive single

Stratford Editorial 29th Dec, 2016   0

AN ACAPELLA group starring a Stratford singer have released a festive charity single.

Semi-Toned features Henry Edwards from the town, and the band recently won the BBC2 show The Choir.

They have now released their charity single A Very Semi-Toned Christmas which is a medley of well-known festive hits by the likes of Bing Crosby, Mariah Carey and Elvis Presley.

Money raised will go to the Order of Malta Volunteers – which encourages young people to help those less fortunate than themselves.

Henry – who formed the band along with his peers at the University of Exeter – said: “We wanted to capitalise on our newfound audience from the TV show and from acappella’s expanding popularity.

“We learned so much from the show, and we wanted to put that into practice and do something that would really help those who would not usually get to experience the opportunities that the charity gives them. The Order of Malta Volunteers also has a really wide reach within the Exeter student community so we thought it would be a great place to start.”
