DANCERS in Stratford are jumping for joy after making it into the finals of a national competition.
Students from Stratford College fought off stiff opposition in the regional heats of Rambert Elements choreography challenge in Nottingham to make it through to the final.
And the students will hope to blow away judges from the world-renowned Rambert dance company in the final in London on June 28.
Dance lecturer at Stratford College, Kath Waters, said: “I’m delighted for them – they have worked incredibly hard and thoroughly deserve their place in the final.
“From the start they demonstrated a very high level of creativity and ability, which was clearly recognised in the judging panel’s decision. We are all now concentrating on ensuring another winning performance in London.”
Rambert Elements was introduced at the start of the academic year as a challenge designed to raise the profile of choreography in secondary schools and colleges across the UK.
