SPORTING success was celebrated by St Gregory’s Catholic Primary School.

After a seven year break from competing in athletics, the Stratford school was quickly back in its stride when it triumphed at the Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire School Games Final held at North Solihull Sports Centre.

St Gregory’s were crowned County Champions for the third time, following previous wins in 2006 and 2009.

And 11-year-old Louis Kendrick was the first pupil from the school to come first in the Cross Country County Championship – held at Rugby Town FC – since 1999.

Headteacher Jane McNally said: “I am absolutely thrilled with the results and so very proud of them all.

“Mr Jones is an inspirational sports coach and the children and school are extremely blessed to have him on our team.”
