Can you help spread some festive cheer to homeless pets?

FESTIVE vets are appealing for help to provide gifts for homeless pets this Christmas.

Avonvale Vets is hoping to spread festive cheer to those less fortunate, and is looking for contributions towards shoeboxes which will be delivered to local animal rescue centres before December 25.

Stephen Bamber, senior vet at Avonvale, said: “The pets we see at Avonvale tend to belong to loving homes and are very well cared for, but unfortunately that’s not the case for all animals and many cats and dogs will be spending Christmas in a shelter this year.

“Our local rescue centres do a fantastic job of providing for these animals but they simply don’t have the resources to provide the extras at Christmas, so we’re looking to provide them with a small token of our appreciation.

“If you’d like to get involved, you can do so in a few different ways. If you’re able to fill a box with cat or dog goodies then that’s great, but if not then we’d be happy to take donations of any toys or treats you can spare. Or you can buy items directly from us and we’ll put the box together on your behalf.”

To make a contribution, bring donations to your local Avonvale centre, or call 01926 400255.
