Shopkeepers urged to keep doors closed for good of planet

SHOPKEEPERS in Stratford will be urged to keep their doors closed in response to the climate emergency.

Stratford District Council has approved the ‘Close the Door Campaign’ proposed by councillors David Curtis and Nigel Rock as part of the council’s commitment to tackle climate change.

The motion proposed in January explained significant amounts of energy and cost were wasted by leaving doors open, and closing them reduced pollutant levels for shop staff.
