Shipston Home Nursing run returns after two year hiatus

Stratford Editorial 9th Mar, 2022   0

SUPPORTERS of Shipston Home Nursing can finally dust off their running shoes.

The charity’s popular £10K run is returning to Walton Hall Hotel on Sunday May 8 after two years of cancellations.

The cross-country loop among 65 acres of countryside surroundings, and overlooking the lake at Walton Hall, passes through woods and the village of Walton before returning to the hall for refreshments.

The course is designed for all abilities, with medals for the first 250 finishers. Those preferring to walk are welcome to do so while they admire the scenery – canine companions optional.

Fund-raising head Rebecca Mawle said: “We’re just delighted that, after having to cancel the last two years, our Walton Hall 10k is finally going ahead this year. “It’s great to be organising this popular event again and we’re looking forward to seeing some familiar faces! Many thanks, as always, to Sir Andrew Hamilton for hosting us in the magnificent grounds of Walton Hall, to Walton Hall and to Listers for their support.”

The race is sponsored by A Forsyth Farm Work, Tubbs End Farms, Hutsby Farms, G Hutsby & Sons and Paddock Farm Butchery, Brailes.

All proceeds will go to Shipston Home Nursing which provides nursing care for patients with life-limiting illnesses and who wish to be cared for at home.

Entry is from £15 for adults and £5 for children.

Dogs are welcome on a lead although the course is not suitable for pushchairs.
