Schoolgirl's idea taken up by RSC

Stratford Editorial 4th Dec, 2016   0

A BRIGHT idea of a Stratford schoolgirl has been taken up by the RSC.

Georgia Helliker suggested theatre bosses illuminate the tower of the RST during the festive season. They thought it was a great idea and now the 36 metre tower will be lit up between 4.30pm and midnight until January 6.

And nine year-old Georgia, a pupil at Willows Primary, was invited along to switch the light on for the first time.

Georgia said: “I am very pleased that the RSC has reacted to my suggestion to decorate the tower for Christmas. It will look fab with the rest of the town’s pretty lights.”

RSC executive director Catherine Mallyon said: “The top of the tower can be seen for miles around, and we are sure the lights will be brilliant. We always welcome people’s feedback and ideas, and we’re delighted Georgia made this fantastic suggestion.”
