RUBBISH Friends were out in force in Stratford once again on Sunday.
The spic and span community group collected 70 sacks of rubbish – and the good news for the environment was 41 of them contained recyclable rubbish.
And even better news for the future of the planet was half of the 63 litter-pickers who turned out were under 16-years-old.
Areas covered included the Alcester Road, the railway station bank, Church Lane in Shottery, Brookside Road, Masons Road, Shottery Fields, the College car park, the passageway between the High School and The Willows, the green by Glebe Road, the canal towpath, Western Road, Darlow Drive, and Farnell Drive.
The next pick takes place on Sunday March 4, and as ever the group would welcome new members.
