A CHRISTMAS card shop supporting local and national charities has opened its doors in Stratford.

The volunteer-run Cards for Good Causes shop is once again being run from Stratford Library on Henley Street, offering a selection of festive gifts and cards.

At least 70p in each pound is given to charities including Myton Hospice and the Air Ambulance.

STAFF at Morrisons are reminding people it is better to give than to receive.




The Stratford store’s staff will be dressing festive in Christmas jumpers and Santa hats for Giving Tuesday (December 1) – a day to remind people to give to the less fortunate in the run up to Christmas after the busy shopping days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Shottery school choir will be singing carols from 11am and senior citizens are invited to enjoy a free cup of tea and mince pie from 2.30 to 5pm.


All donations will go to the Sue Ryder hospice and neurological care charity.

And Morrisons will be welcoming Father Christmas on Saturday On December 12 from 10.30am.

Community group Company and Cake are stepping in for the elves to wrap presents for children Santa and Monkey Puzzle nursery has created a 3D fireplace for his grotto.

SANTA will be dropping in at Moreton Morrell Primary School next week.

The school’s Christmas Fayre on Friday December 4 will feature a raffle, bottle stand, crafts and an auction of Christmas Day essentials.

Proceeds from the evening, running from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, will go to Friends of Moreton Morrell School.
