Riding for the Disabled Stratford group gets new mount

DISABLED horse riders in Stratford have welcomed a new mount.

Riding for the Disabled (RDA) provide horses and ponies for therapy and enjoyment to people with disabilities all over the country.

The Stratford group – which has provided 1,000 rides over the last year to disabled children and adults – sadly lost a horse over the summer which has limited the service they can provide.

But new horse Alfie has been bought after receiving a £2,000 grant from the Zurich Community Trust, and support from organisers and supporters of the Admington Fun Horse Ride.

Group Organiser Donna Jenkins said: “It is difficult to find that special horse and Alfie being young, will hopefully enable us to continue to offer a service for larger riders and help us to reduce our current waiting list for many happy years.”
