QUAKERS in Stratford have added their voice to protests over President Donald Trump’s attempt to stop Syrian refugees going to the United States.
A statement from the British Quakers condemned all acts of government which set people against one another.
Quakers in the town have been active in supporting the community response to the arrival of refugees from Syria in the district.
Barbara Roberts from the Stratford Quakers said: “We too feel that we should reject policies which condone suspicion or hatred, which turn away those who need and depend upon our help.
“There could be no greater contrast than that between the kindness shown by the many people in Stratford who have come together to welcome refugees from Syria and the attempt of President Trump to stop all Syrian refugees from coming to the United States.”
