Prolific south Warwickshire fundraiser steps out for LWS Night Shelter

A PROLIFIC fundraiser has laced up her walking boots again – this time for LWS Night Shelter.

Alex Pearson was joined by volunteers, and her canine duo Chester and Archie, for a fundraising walk in aid of the Leamington based homeless charity, which saw them pounding the pavements between LWS’s old premises in Newbold Comyn to Radford Semele where the new HQ is based.

The shelter was chosen by Morrisons community champion Alex as one of her charities as she felt the work they do to support those on the streets with a hot meal, a food parcel or even a safe place to sleep was really important.

Alex said: “Doing this walk was really nice for scenery but the important aspect was to think of what it must be like to be homeless and try to find a safe space to shelter or go to.

“We walked The Parade where some of the clients use the services the LWS team offer, through some very muddy fields which turned into an assault course at times. We have supported LWS at Christmas with our giving tree and I know this is a charity in our community people have a lot of time for.

“We were able to raise a fantastic £566.28 for the shelter which will go a long way to support the team and the people using the services. We will continue to support the amazing team and help raise funds and donate what we can.”

The cash raised was match funded by Morrisons, making a final total for LWS of £1,132.56.
