A SPATE of suspected drink-driving has resulted in a number of arrests.
On Saturday (January 8) a 72-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drink driving on the A423 Southam Road in Leamington following a road accident. She was later charged with drink driving and is due before Coventry Magistrates on February 4.
In the early hours of the same day, a 42-year-old woman from Stratford was arrested on suspicion of the same offence when officers were called to a single vehicle accident in Stratford Road, Wootton Wawen. She is due at Coventry Magistrates on February 11.
On early Sunday morning, a 23-year-old man from Stratford was arrested in Ely St after officers were alerted to his manner of driving and he failed a roadside breath test. He was charged with drink driving and is due at Coventry Magistrates on February 4.
And a motorway driver from Stratford was arrested later that afternoon, on suspicion of drink driving, after police received a report from a member of the public concerned about his driving on the M40 Southbound. The 44-year-old man was charged and will appear at Coventry Magistrates Court on February 4.
