A STORE assistant was threatened with a syringe after chasing a thief in Ufton.

A man went into Lister Wilder in Southam Road and stole boots and socks shortly before noon on Tuesday June 18.

A staff member gave chase into the car park where the thief threatened him with a syringe.

The man was white, around 5ft 9in, aged around 30, with neatly cut brown hair a little bit longer on the top, facial hair and tattoos on his arms. He was wearing a pair of loose blue jeans and a brown sweater.

Police are appealing for information and for anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image to come forward.

Those with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
