PLANS have been submitted to build 700 homes, a school, hotel and care home on the grounds of Dallas Burston Polo Club.

Stratford District Council received the planning application to build a £122million development on 600 acres of land at Stoneythorpe near Southam.

If it goes ahead, 700 homes would be built, along with a 80-bed care home, primary school, 100-bed hotel, with shops, a cafe and office space and 99 homes and flats as part of a retirement community.

Owners IXL Events say the development would be exciting for the region and create hundreds of new jobs. It would also include 100 luxury lodges and a players pavilion, which is set to open next month.

Manager Major Richard Carney MBE said: “This is not just about expanding and developing our business, it is also about boosting the economy and helping other established businesses – it will benefit Warwickshire massively.”
