Opportunity to learn more about being a councillor on offer

Stratford Editorial 19th Mar, 2017   0

WOULD-BE county councillors are being urged to find out what the role entails.

Following a review by the Local Government Boundary Commission, there will be 57 county councillors elected at election on May 4 to 13 of which will represent electoral divisions in Stratford district.

Anyone interested in standing for election for a four year term of office can attend a briefing session aimed at prospective candidates in the Council Chamber at the district council offices in Stratford on Monday (March 20), at 5.30pm.

People can stand as independent candidates and do not need to represent or be affiliated to any particular political party

People keen to attend should call district council democratic services manager David Dalby in advance on 01789 260210 to register their attendance.
