Office Outlet to close after just two months

OFFICE Outlet in Stratford is set to close just two months after opening.

The chain, which has 90 stores in the UK, went into administration last month, putting 1,200 jobs at risk.

And now the store, at the Maybrook Industrial Estate on Birmingham Road, will close on Sunday (April 7) with the loss of ten jobs.

The stationery giant, previously part of the Staples brand, will close a total of 16 stores across the country.

The administrators are looking for a buyer for the remaining stores.

Joint administrator Richard Hawes said they would keep remaining staff informed of further developments during the ‘difficult time’.

Stratford’s nearest branch in Solihull will remain open.
