New patron for Shakespeare Hospice

Stratford Editorial 2nd Oct, 2017   0

A NEW patron has been announced at The Shakespeare Hospice.

Businessman Sir Peter Rigby has supported the charity for the past seven years.

He recently supported the new Stratford Hospital with its cancer unit, which was later named after him.

And now Mr Rigby has been announced as the hospice’s patron.

He said: “I am honoured to become the patron of The Shakespeare Hospice. This local charity has an excellent reputation for delivering high quality services, anyone who lives here has heard of it, and knows of the great work they do.

“Together, we can continue to raise awareness of their invaluable services, and raise much needed funds towards the care of their patients and families.”

The hospice is working with the new Stratford Hospital Rigby Unit to develop support services for cancer patients. This includes offering counselling and complimentary therapies such as massage.

Hospice chief executive Angie Arnold said: “We would like to thank Sir Peter for taking on the role of patron. We are very appreciative of the support of such a well-respected and community-minded businessman and very much look forward to working with him.”
