Man jailed for historic child sex offences

Stratford Editorial 22nd Sep, 2017   0

A MAN has been jailed for historic child sex offences.

Peter Lancaster, age 48, was found guilty of one count of buggery, one of indecency with a child and three counts of indecent assault on a man.

The sentencing follows an investigation by Warwickshire Police into sex offences which happened between 1983 and 1987 in Priors Marston, near Southam, when the defendant was 14 to 18 years-old.

Lancaster, from Kettering, was sentenced at Warwick Crown Court.

Police insp Andy Smith said: “The nature of these offences can have an incredibly damaging effect on the victim and I hope that today’s sentence gives the victim some form of closure.

“I would like to praise the support and courage of the victim throughout this investigation and hope that members of the public are reassured that all sexual offences are taken very seriously by Warwickshire Police, irrespective of when they took place, and will be thoroughly investigated.”

Anyone who has been a victim of a sexual offence can contact police on 101 or visit the Blue Sky centre at George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton.
