TWO people had a lucky escape after a helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing when it set alight.

The people managed to escape the helicopter, which landed by the Masons Arms in Long Marston at around 12.30pm today (Wednesday).

Emergency services were called to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews discovered the helicopter well ablaze.  There were two patients at the scene, who had managed to get out of the helicopter safely.

“Thankfully, they were uninjured in the incident and able to be discharged at the scene.”
