Johnsons make bus timetable changes

JOHNSONS Coach & Bus Travel’s current 20 bus service will soon be changing back to the X20 with a few changes.

The Henley-based firm’s bus operation began in 2000 and now the company operate many routes in the midlands including buses to Stratford, Coventry, and Redditch.

Changes are being made to the 20 service which should secure the future of the service and provide enhancements for passengers.

The changes include:

* The Service 20 will be renumbered back to X20 and will operate between Stratford and Solihull, continuing on an hourly basis and operating as on the current route until Morrisons in Shirley, where it will turn right via Solihull Road, Sharmans Cross Road and Streetsbrook Road to Solihull Interchange.

* The Service 82 will also be renumbered as the X20 and will operate on its current route via Solihull Touchwood shopping centre to Coventry, providing a through service between Stratford and Coventry, again on an hourly basis.

* The new X20 Solihull to Coventry service will have some timing alterations in the afternoon peak times to provide one additional journey in each direction, providing later links between Solihull and Coventry than what is currently available.

Home to School travel services within the service will be unaffected, and will still operate as normal. Seniors will also still continue to receive free bus travel.

Commercial director John Johnson said: “We are ever grateful for the public’s support and we hope that the loyal patronage from the villages and surrounding areas of Bearley, Wootton Wawen, Henley and Hockley Heath will increase due to the attraction of an hourly service through Solihull to Coventry.

“We are always looking for ways to improve so we welcome passenger suggestions and feedback for how we can make our services even better.”
