THE STAGE is set for a sale with a difference at Stratford Methodist Church.
Amateur dramatic group Avonside Players brought the curtain down on 50 years of staging plays in the town last November.
And now they are selling off costumes and props from down the decades on March 25 from 10am to noon.
The sale will feature everything from tables and chairs, to vintage dresses for the ladies, and evening suits for the gentlemen, together with copies of plays from productions staged.
All money raised will be, as it has always been, divided between the church and local charities.
Shelia Giles said: “We decided to call it a day after our 50th anniversary production. None of us are getting any younger and there was no new blood interested in keeping it going.”
