Hospice to hold 'drive-thru' donation events

Stratford Editorial 13th Jun, 2021   0

‘DRIVE-thru’ donations of second-hand goods are set to continue for a local hospice charity, after trials proved a roaring success.

The initial events, held in April and May at The Myton Hospices’ Warwick premises, saw hundreds of kind-hearted supporters fill up their cars with donations and hand them over at Covid-safe donation stations.

Now the charity has announced seven further ‘drive-thru’ events at its hospices in Coventry, Rugby and Warwick.

Myton’s Head of Retail and Trading, Ralph Beevers, said: “We were blown away by the amazing support, the number of people who came along to donate and the amazing goods they donated, which will provide such an important source of income for our shops now they are back open and welcoming our valued customers.

“Thank you so much to everyone who has already donated – we hope to enjoy similar success at our forthcoming drive-thru events.”

Donations will be welcome at Warwick Myton Hospice (CV34 6PX) on Wednesday June 16 (12-2pm), Saturday June 26 (10am-2pm) and Wednesday August 11 (12-2pm).

Rugby Myton Hospice will host drive-thru donations on Friday July 30 (12-2pm) and Saturday July 31 (10am-2pm).

And residents can donate to Coventry Myton Hospice (CV2 2HJ) on Wednesday July 14 (12-2pm) and Saturday August 28 (10am-2pm).

Booking in advance is not necessary. All donations must be good quality, saleable items such as clothes, shoes, accessories, unused toiletries and small items of homeware. Myton cannot accept items that are damaged, broken or incomplete.
