Henley marina project takes off

Stratford Editorial 30th Sep, 2017   0

CONSTRUCTION has begun on a new marina in Henley which will provide mooring for 50 canal boats.

Hill Farm had a £750,000 business loan approved and immediately set to work on the marina, which will be built next to Stratford canal.

The project – which is set to be completed by the end of October – will also see new footpaths built along the canal, road access to the marina from the A3400 and a 25-bay car park.

Hill Farm eventually also plans to add on further facilities including a cafe and shower block.

David Cooke, who is carrying out the project, said: “We have had lots of positive comments from passers-by and local businesses which should benefit from the extra business the marina will bring.

“More than 50 per cent of the moorings have already been sold prior to opening and there is lots of interest from boaters looking at coming to stay in the spring.”
