HENLEY’S community centre is using online shopping to help raise much-needed funds.
The Hub is aiming to raise cash by signing up to easyfundraising.org.uk – an online shopping website which gives customers cash rewards to donate to a good cause.
Chairman Peter Crathorne is encouraging supporters of the centre to sign up to the website to help it raise the £70,000 annual running costs.
High street names like Argos, John Lewis and Tesco can be shopped through the website, with products costing the same as they would direct from the retailers.
Peter said: “Since the centre was closed by Warwickshire County Council in 2012, the local community has supported our battle to keep our centre open.
” Every year our existence is under threat as funding channels dry up. We hope that this initiative will go some way to help us secure the future.”
As well as providing a youth club, the Hub also hosts play sessions for babies and toddlers and a weekly senior’s group.
