THE GUILD Chapel will be turning back the clock to celebrate Lammas.
It will be marking the harvest festival on Thursday (August 1) that would have seen the people of Stratford flocking to the chapel in medieval days to give thanks and offer up gifts of bread and beer.
There will be free entertainment, between 10am and 11.30am, from Kate’s Storytree who will be telling stories and helping children make corn dollies to take home along with a packet of seeds.
Families can pick up a free trail that will take them around the chapel and then into the town to discover other connections to the Lammas feast day.
In the evening, the chapel will be celebrating in true medieval style with music, poetry and dance.
The evening will be rounded off with a glass of Guild Chapel Lammas ale specially brewed by the Shakespeare Brewing Company.
