Grants to give jobseekers a boost

Matthew Brown 10th Nov, 2016

JOBSEEKERS in Stratford are set to benefit from a £3million project to help them get back to work.

Thanks to the Big Lottery and European Social Funds, Accelerate is looking to support some of the most disadvantaged people to tackle barriers preventing them from entering work or self employment.

The project is targeted at those who are unemployed or economically active, including those with disabilities, mental health issues, ex-offenders, over 50s and those from ethnic communities.

It will bring together 24 local partners to provide jobseekers with access to training in confidence building, work experience and skills enhancement including training on IT, literacy and numeracy.

The project launches at Coventry Central Hall on November 29 (Tuesday) between 11am and 4pm.
