Golfers on tee for Stratford Cancer & Eye Hospital Appeal

GOLFERS were on tee for the Stratford Cancer & Eye Hospital Appeal

Players at Stratford Park Hotel & Golf Club in Snitterfield raised over £1,000 for the appeal. The cash was raised through golf competitions, charity days and raffles.

The club also has a ‘charity pond’ and any golfer’s ball which finds its way into the water has to contribute to a charity jar in the club bar.

Committee member Kevin Bennett said: “ As a golf club, we wanted to raise money for something local and the new hospital will be of benefit to so many people in the Stratford and wider area”.

There have been a number of people involved in the fundraising over the past couple of years including past captains Jake Day and Andy Baughan.

Following the success of the £1million appeal for enhancements for the new hospital, fund-raising is on-going to ensure the hospital is the best it can be.
