Gelato shop customers serve up sweet treat to frontline staff

Stratford Editorial 18th Jun, 2020   0

CUSTOMERS at a gelato shop have made a sweet gesture to key workers.

Visitors to Hooray’s on the High Street have been donating scoops of gelato to NHS staff and care workers.

Business owners Sara Young and Sasha Barke then took the gelato van to Stratford, Leamington and Ellen Badger hospitals along with Rosedale Care Home so staff could enjoy a sweet treat while on shift.

And key workers who visited the store received a free scoop with extra toppings.

Sasha said: “We would like to say thanks to everyone who has gifted a scoop to all the wonderful NHS and frontline staff – we have really enjoyed delivering these treats to the staff and feel privileged to hand them out on behalf of our customers.

“As soon as we have enough donations, our next stop is Warwick Hospital to serve up a cold treat to as many of the 1,000 staff there as we can.”
