A FORMER RAF pilot held prisoner and tortured during the first Gulf War is hosting a talk at a charity event in Stratford.
Pilot-turned motivational speaker John Peters’ bruised and battered face was seen on television screens around the world after his plane was shot down. He was held for seven-weeks in Baghdad before the war ended.
He now teaches resilience and business leadership as well as supporting numerous charities.
And guests at the HorseHeard Gala weekend at the Welcombe Hotel have the chance to hear Mr Peters’ story on Saturday March 28.
The black tie event will raise money for HorseHeard which supports the emotional wellbeing of vulnerable people and children with confidence issues.
A golf day will be held prior to a drinks reception followed by a three course meal, entertainment, raffle and auction.
Tickets cost £100.
